Our Mission

Built because nothing else existed that did this right.

We're building the device we couldn't find. A single, rugged, legally compliant communications tool for people who take preparedness seriously.

The Problem

The market is full of toys and hacker radios.

Consumer walkie-talkies are underpowered, unlicensed, and built to a price. SDR platforms are powerful but legally complex and operationally fragile. Meshtastic nodes are great for data but don't do voice. GMRS radios don't do mesh.

Nothing on the market combines GMRS voice, LoRa mesh networking, and GPS in a single purpose-built, FCC-compliant, field-ready device.

So we're building it.

The Solution

One device. Three radio layers. Zero compromises.

GMRS voice for clear, licensed, repeater-capable communication. Meshtastic LoRa mesh for encrypted off-grid coordination and GPS telemetry. All in a single rugged handheld that works completely offline.

Every design decision is made with one question: does this make the device more reliable when it matters most? If the answer is no, it doesn't ship.

What we stand for

Legal compliance by design

FCC compliance is not an afterthought. Every RF chain is designed from the ground up to meet its regulatory classification. No workarounds. No gray areas.

Infrastructure independence

The device must work when the internet is down, when cell towers are overloaded, and when power is out. Zero cloud dependency for core operation.

Open standards only

No proprietary vocoders. No locked ecosystems. No vendor lock-in. Every protocol we use is open, documented, and community-supported.

Field serviceability

Non-proprietary 18650 batteries. Standard connectors. No glued cells. If it breaks in the field, it should be fixable in the field.

Minimalism under stress

Core functions must be accessible without menus. Glove-friendly. Sunlight-readable. Operable by someone who has never used the device before.

Premium, not commodity

This is not a $30 blister-pack radio. It is a precision tool for people who depend on communication when it matters most.

Non-negotiable guardrails

What we will never do.

G-01

No encryption on GMRS voice — it is prohibited by FCC regulation.

G-02

No wideband transmit capability — this is not an SDR.

G-03

No firmware unlock backdoors — frequencies are locked at compile time.

G-04

No shared RF power amplifiers between services.

G-05

No AMBE or proprietary vocoders — HAM Pro uses open Codec2 only.

G-06

No infrastructure dependency for core operation.

G-07

Physical RF separation between all transmit subsystems — always.

G-08

GMRS transmitter firmware-locked to GMRS channel set only.

G-09

Battery must be field-replaceable using non-proprietary cells.

G-10

No feature creep — every addition must serve the preparedness mission.
